Community Tasting Notes 12

May 22, 2021 - Finally open up my last bottle after almost 10 years.
Dark ruby red with slight brick red rims. It has Initial nose of dark plum, blackcurrant, black cherry and sweet toasty oak slowly evolve to show dusty earth, leather and pepper.
Dry, bitter entry, slow open up with some secondary notes, wood, dried herbs, earth, blueberry and spices. Gradually improve over the next 4-5 hours. Still showing plenty of dry tannins and medium finish.
It has a promising nose but disappointing palate. Slowly growing on me with improved palate. But somehow I feel that this bottle should be drunk 3-5 years earlier.

May 21, 2012 - Nose of dark fruit, some spice. Hollow middle but otherwise ok. For the price, won't go wrong.

May 16, 2012 - Nose of dark fruit, cigar and vanilla. Pretty smooth on the palate showing a fair balance and medium finish. For the price you can't go wrong.
