January 20, 2024 - A special bottle for me as I bought this on the domain itself during my very first Bordeaux trip.
Still remember the lady and me saying that 1999 was the year I became 18.
Saved this bottle for a special occasion, so which occasion would be better than to open this with your best friends and a cheese dish, followed with some home made chocolate mousse?
In the glass you see that this is an old and evolved Sauternes with a deep copper-yellw colour
Aroma's of candied fruit both in the nose as on the palate.
Abricot, citrus and honey, together with a beautiful acidity that keeps everything nicely balanced.1 person found this helpful Comment -

December 28, 2023 - Rich and unctuous but fortunately not tropical in this vintage. Classic botrytis, quince, apricot and honey. Extreme persistence but with that level of RS and 14% ABV that’s probably expected. Good, but lacked a bit more acidic zing to make it Great. Another BBX gem though at $80SGD a bottle.

Pronounced aromas botrytis, crystalized honey, honey comb, white blossoms, dried apricot, dried tangerine, blood orange, grapefruit pith, roasted hazelnuts, nutmeg, ginger.
Pronounced palate.
Full body, high acidity, long finish. -
