August 16, 2014 - Golden rod color. A nose of melon, pineapple, honey. The palate is similar with creme brulee, peach. Gorgeous stuff.

June 28, 2014 - At Tom and Susan's farewell dinner, off to California. Drank this next to an 08 Domaine de Montille

Really opened and nice on this evening, better than prior tastings, showing its put on some weight and added complexity. Medium gold color. Nose was showing minerality, white flowers and mild oak. Citrus/lemon, marmalade, oak. Creamy mid palate texture. Long finish, exceptional wine...

Crowd preferred this to the Montille, both wines were excellent. This is in a great spot now, probably drinks really well for next 3-5 years, doubt it will improve too much more from here

March 16, 2014 - Really nice medium fruit compared to other Peter Michael. Similar tasting notes. Less mineral notes than I would like, but this is big Napa Chard.
Moderate complex finish. Marmalade, lots of citrus - almost more than tropical qualities.
Very nice. Consistent year to year. Still didn't show too much age.

February 16, 2014 - Having seen the alcohol content of 15% - one, five - on the label before opening, I was expecting the worst. But already the color is a surprise: not the dark golden yellow of an overoaked and tired monster but a pale color, like a Chablis. Chablis was also the first thing that came to my mind when facing the nose, not a lot of fruit, a bit closed and dominated by plenty of minerality. But neither oak nor alcohol shows. On the palate this is obviously quite oily, you cannot hide these 15% entirely, but very dry and not sweet at all. Fairly long finish. An exceptionally good wine, on the palate it lacks perhaps a bit the expressiveness and complexity of a very good Burgundy white, but in style this a lovely wine if you like that region.

Smoky nose of lemon, butter, apples

    Butter, apples, pears, peppery
Rich, full and a forever finish
