October 21, 2023 - From magnum. Decanted on hour. Does not taste like 23 year old wine. Nicely balanced good fruit left from this format.

April 1, 2023 - Port-like nose with a bit of glycerin. In the glass the color is medium-dark, rather dark for a wine of this age. Candied red fruit on the palate. Medium bodied with good acidity. Red licorice on the finish.

February 5, 2023 - Vinetasters: 2000 Bordeaux (Park Ridge, IL): Served double blind. Sticks out like a sore thumb. Sharpie-marker and high-toned aldehydes on the nose. Sweet and sickly, with some cough syrup fruit and bitter notes on the palate. Alcoholic and oaky to fault, with a lot of black cherry/vanilla notes. Not to my liking at all. My 11th, group's 4th.

June 5, 2019 - Silky smooth and still plenty of life in it. Give it an hour or so in the decanter. Beautiful fruit and very well balanced wine.
