Community Tasting Notes 10

November 29, 2010 - Almost the exact same experience as my first bottle. Lovely golden color. Tons of apple, pear, honey, quince and peaches on the nose with just a touch of petrol. Peaches came through the most on the palate with a coating mouthfeel. Acid was not quite what I recall but still lively. Long, smooth finish. Just fantastic.

April 21, 2009 - When we poured this bottle, we actually thought something had happened to the wine because it was neon yellow in the glass!!! It seriously looked like mountain dew. I have never seen a wine that color before. When poured, the wine initially had some green notes on the nose (maybe asparagus) along with some petrol and pears, but as the wine opened up and warmed up, the vegetal aromas blew off and more honey, baked pear, petrol notes came through. Similar flavors on the palate with a very smooth palate coating mouthfeel and long finish. This wine is still holding up quite well.

December 1, 2008 - Cadence: This was as pop and pour to accompany a light dinner consisting of mediterranean salad with a vinaigrette dressing.

Sight: Straw colored wine showing that it has some age. Medium viscosity. Clear wine.

Nose: Grapefruits, citrus zest, along with tropical fruit nose accompanied by some earthy and dusty notes.

Taste: Pleasant sweetness. Mouth-coating feel to the texture of the wine. A slight oily aspect to the way it coats the mouth. Also a pleasant mineral/stone taste profile on the palate.

Overall: Ideally I would like the acidity to be slightly higher. A great wine for dinner or other non-special occasions. Quite the deal from a QPR perspective. 89-90 points.

August 7, 2008 - Consistently a killer wine for the price. Structured and very enjoyable- buy and drink as many as you can find (paid $15) over the next 3-4 years!

August 2, 2008 - Delicious. I would have never guessed this is 12 years old. Great acidity and crisp fruit.
