Community Tasting Notes 7

February 7, 2021 - Dark color, good structure, but doesnˋt sing. I decanted and decanted, but a note of reduction stayed. Did they use too much sulphur at the time?

December 23, 2016 - 2nd bottle opened in the last 2 weeks. Interestingly this was brighter with more red fruit and Chambolle elegance immediately upon opening. After a few hours of air, it was much more like the previous bottle, big, darker fruit and good structure. I like this wine.

December 9, 2016 - Tight upon opening, this wine was much better after 2 hours in the glass and decanter. Darker fruit and tending towards the bigger, Bonnes-Mares style of Chambolle. A lovely wine that will improve with time in the bottle, but can be drunk with pleasure now with appropriate air.

January 10, 2016 - Yep, baby Bonnes Mares. Youthful, energetic ripe plum, some secondary earthy notes, well balanced. Good length. Still some resolving tannins. Pensive, enjoyable juice. No rush to drink here. Better certainly with food. This needed air and was better with time. Decanted and consumed over about four hours.

September 7, 2009 - Rather excellent with Grouse at Cafe Anglais, best of the four Pinot's we had. Chambolle grace with Veroilles steel. Good fruit, maybe a couple of years from maturity, palate a little tight compared to lush, floral, mineral nose. Potential to get better...
