September 16, 2023 - Lots of iron and mineral notes.

April 30, 2022 - 1st of 6, decanted an hour, perfect cork and level - dark, translucent ruby, hint of brown on rim; cherry, plum, earth, some barnyard, gamey; medium, long, persistent, nice acid edge and lift to flavours if not as expressive or nuanced as nose promised, upside, 10+ years. F+ (18).

January 22, 2022 - Two bottle recently. Nose took about 45min to fully open. Cherry, mineral, touch of earth. More blue fruit came out with time. Subtle spice Very youthful on the palate and intense finish. Lovely now with plenty of evolution ahead.

June 21, 2020 - My last bottle of this (stored in a climate controlled cellar since purchase for $80/bottle some 12-13 years ago), and it was a delight! The nose is immediately expressive showcasing notes of smoke, the typical barnyard, graphite, and bright cherry and strawberry fruit. The fruit was on front display the entire evening (consumed in 5 hours without decant), with licorice, spice, and leather coming to the fore with time, followed by hints of rosemary herb, eucalyptus, and anise. In the mouth it is super silky and smooth, medium-full bodied though quite elegant and weightless. Candied, tart cherry and strawberry fruit clings to the palate, which was most impressive at the 1-2 hour mark, then settling into a rather seamless though voluptuous package - the purity and expressiveness of the fruit seemed unparalleled, the kind that only Grand Cru Burgundy can seemingly deliver. While in perfect harmony and balance, the acidity and tension of the vintage ensures continued life, however, my sense is that if you still have them, now is the time!

April 3, 2020 - A tribute bottle to Bill Withers. What a lovely wine.
