December 6, 2023 - Much more evolved than last time I tasted, a year ago.One of the better Coeur de Roy I have tasted and it will certainly improve further with cellar time.

November 26, 2022 - Whilst the tannins and masculinity of the wine are undeniable.I believe that they have evolved positively since my last taste(3 years ago).Certainly the fruit is more evolved and hope that will continue for the next 5 years....

May 2, 2022 - Pausing for the Cause 2022 (Chicago, IL): Tannic and brooding, this has a lot of chewy black-fruited tannins and a stern, hard tannic structure that's impossible to get through. Yes, despite this being Dugat-Py, I'm still going to editorialize here to say that I don't think the 2005 red Burgundy vintage really is all that it's chalked up to be (unless you just like drinking tannin).

April 8, 2022 - Dark red, good acidity. nose of dark fruit, flavours of earthiness, primarily sour cherry, good level of sweetness, tannins are very present and coat the back of the palate. This wine still has the stuffing to continue to age. My only fear is will it be dominated by the tannins and dry out.. or will the fruit flavours balance out the wine with more time.
This does mellow as you drink the bottle and the sweetness becomes more evident but so does the dryness from the tannins. Well made, great fruit extraction ...needs time. Excellent/ Impressive 2005 village.

July 25, 2021 - very masculine, young-ish abd vibrant red burg. Had this at the end of a night so not a ton of detailed notes from memory, but this was a bit tannic, plenty of dark red fruit, tart, some forest floor - struck me as a bottle that could age another 5-10 years quite easily and would be interesting to try it at that point.
