November 5, 2023 - Deep tawny color. Aromas of plums, prunes, raisins, tomato, leather, chocolate, earth. High acidity, plenty of silky tannins. Taste of dark cherries, dried cherries, dark chocolate. Complex, with great concentration and extra long. Superb example of clasic brunello.

January 23, 2022 - I tried this with an hour decant out of the Coravin and then the next night I opened the bottle and PnP’d. Both ways it seemed over the hill to me. Lots of stewed plum and overripe dark fruits. Some leather and a bit of spice but I’m getting very little acidity which makes this flabby at best. I did taste this wine years ago and it was stunning. I feel I waited too long on this one. It’s not the wine’s fault. I know this is a great wine, but 18 years may be too much.

January 21, 2020 - From magnum. This is drinking beautifully at the moment. Classically styled but with an effusive noise of candied black cherry and mushroom. Perfect with wood fired pizza. Extremely classy and put together juice. No reason to hang onto this.

May 1, 2019 - Opened my first of 3 bottles with some trepidation given the mixed reviews. The wine had medium level of dark fruit and smooth tannins and was right in my happy zone. Old world finesse.
