    January 16, 2021 - Charlotte – Dme Chante Cigale 2006 Chateauneuf-du-Pape
    C : Dense red/brown with garnet rim.
    N: Damp earth and truffles.
T: Kirsch cherry with woody notes and liquorice. Very warming and spicy and while there is a pleasing savoury/sweet balance the mid-palate is hollow and what’s left of any fruit disappears all too quickly leaving a marked astringency.
Summary: While still giving pleasure, this is past it’s best and on the way down. Imo, best drunk at least 5/6 years ago, so consume any remaining stocks while what’s left of the fruit is still survives. 86pts

January 1, 2020 - Not sure this is completely past its peak. Still fruity, full and voluptuous. Happy to drink it......

September 19, 2019 - Past peak. Drinkable but fading.

July 27, 2019 - Nice 13 year old Chateauneuf-Du-Pape (65% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 10% Mourvedre and 5% Cinsault) although probably past its peak. Tastes of ripe cherry and olives, supple tannins.

February 24, 2018 - Classic Chante Cigale, reflective of the vintage. Exotic (not spoofed), Persian, makes me think of Oriental rugs and HH Richardson. Nicely secondary, just a bit young for me, probably perfect in a couple years.
