  (LOCURA Tikal) Locura Dear Friends, I sampled this wine over the long weekend and it is so darn alluring even a classicist can't help but be swayed (I believe Tanzer would concur with this assessment as well). I tried not to like it (in vain) but I must recognize a stunning example regardless of the style and this wine is so good that it may actually be worth the investment. There are times when you want something sensual and overflowing with a seamless laugh-out-loud factor (that will make you very popular with your dinner party guests) - this is your wine...in spades. An indigenous Argentinean "Cote Rotie" that co-ferments Torrontes (white) with Malbec and a tinge of Bonarda, the aromatics are simply surreal and the nearly eternal palate is going to make many swoon. No 750mls were produced of this wine - only 450 magnums and that's it (I believe they produced a few 750mls with the 2006 but not the 2005). With only 450 x 1.5's for the world, I was only obtain a few of them but the 2005 Locura is worth the New World search and then some: VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for a kaleidoscope of the exotic that somehow manages to keep everything in giddy perspective: 2005 Locura (Tikal) Mendoza 1.5lt Thank you, Jon Rimmerman Garagiste Seattle, WA Arg8300
