May 5, 2013 - Garnet, with medium (+) intensity and medium (+) legs. The nose is clean, with black and blue fruit, tobacco, liquorice, earth. The nose is developed. The palate is dry, with medium alcohol and medium (+) smoothness. The acidity is medium but the tannins are still medium (+). The minerality is medium (+), resulting in a long and savory finish. This is a medium to full-bodied wine, which is moderately balanced, with medium (+) flavor intensity and finish. Drink now or before the end of 2015.

December 3, 2012 - consistent tn's. Wholly enjoyable food wine, showing ever so slightly past peak. Enough freshness and structure remain for enjoyment over the next few years. 13,0% abv

October 7, 2012 - My fourth of fifth time with this in the past few years, and I have to say it's been a very consistent performer. Opens with some very attractive earthy tones, but moves to its red and black fruits within the next 10 minutes. Wholly more interesting with food, I'm really digging the acid, fruit and tannin structure here. In a good place now and for the next couple of years. Very good QPR, 13,0% abv

May 24, 2012 - Aerated in decanter 30 minutes, drank over the following hour. Garnet toward ruby core, no sign of age. Cherry skin, almonds, juniper bush, hot stones and grilled herbs. Flavors follow from the nose, but an added salted caramel and saline character is in the background, mixed with the cherry fruit. Ample acids, slight but grippy tannins. A wine to enjoy while the Taurasi are ageing. Went well with seasoned burgers from the grill. More complex than I first gave it credit. 13,0% abv, drink thru 2014
