January 5, 2020 - Time has run out on this, I should think.
The interesting part is the wine shows little evolution, it has simply turned one dimensional. The colour was fresh and bright deep red, no fading at the edge, in fact clear at the edge from the alcohol. Tannins still there and they are fine ones. Acidity in place, but the alcohol is hot on the nose and a touch on the finish. The palate has turned into straight fruit with little else.
And that fruit is one dimensional. Not falling apart, but it is going mute.
Blind you would likely guess younger than 12 years.

I have noticed this same odd arc of evolution on Bordeaux's these days.
Bottles aged 15 years show almost no signs of development, with fruit that is still primary.

August 11, 2015 - Nose had a touch of barnyard and garrigue. How appropriate. Great balance and drinking well.

July 13, 2015 - Weekly tasting group #175; A mixed set. (@ RvD): In the bouquet still some cherries, herbs and spices, some vanilla and a touch of barnyard. On the palate red fruits, sweet spices, garrigue, dark fruits, cherries, a firm amount of acidity and soft tannin. So far so good, but overall the wine is less impressive and harmonious than some time ago. Even falling apart a bit. If you have any left; don’t wait too long. No score.

May 1, 2014 - At least we went out on a high note! Our final bottle of this wine which has had wild ups and downs showed some great juicy red berries and smooth mouth-feel. The finish was pretty short, but that was the only negative in my view. I'm plenty convinced this is holding at its peak--IF YOU'RE DRINKING ONE OF THE GOOD BOTTLES :-).
