December 25, 2022 - Bottle bought on release. It was a little rustic and difficult to start but over 1-2 hrs open it developed more depth and some fruit. It was elegant, low key but a bit hard to read. Good but not great compared to other producers in this era.

March 15, 2020 - Perfectly mature yet youthful nose displaying concentrated black fruit, ash, tapenade, charred medium rare steak, garrigue and earth. Exceptional concentration, layers upon layers of concentrated black fruit, incredible amount of extract, rich yet fluid and polished, bright acidity and strong mineral, and a long intense black fruit driven finish with ash and tapenade at the end. Ideally stored and still shows generous fruit.

January 8, 2020 - Another Year, Another Napa (aka Winter in Wineland IV); 1/5/2020-1/11/2020 (Napa/Sonoma California): This one jumped off the list at Single Thread to me so was very interested to try. I'll say it was a decent Syrah, but at least the bottle we had wasn't really drinking as well as some '91s do and I don't think it was quite as awesome as I'd hoped. Would instead say a classic Cote Rotie, somewhat more basic than I expected, but does have that nice meaty style.

March 29, 2019 - Lost Friday afternoon gathering – Chave, Krug, Churchill, Trimbach, Mugnier and etc. (Black Salt, Washington DC): Expressive nose displaying opulent black fruit, blackberry, black cherry, caramel, truffle, a hint of oak, dark spices and limestone. Excellent concentration, layers upon layers of rich black fruit, silky and polished, good acidity and mineral and a long sweet black fruit driven finish. This is drinking beautifully.
