September 22, 2021 - Amazingly there was still a lot of life in this wine.

July 15, 2020 - First glass had an oak taste. Second glass smelled like a barnyard.

April 25, 2018 - The best bottle of these I’ve had. Still fruit on the nose with strong cedar. Super silky mellow mouthfeel. The finish on this bottle went on for quite awhile! Wish I had more! Thanks to my late Dad for leaving a few!

September 30, 2017 - Dried currant, tons of cedar, some cola tones. Very little sweetness but plenty of structure, this was a bit charmless alone but came together well with some brisket and mash. Now that I think about, this is pretty typical old York Cab.

December 16, 2016 - Bacchus: Classic Ridge - a cedary, slightly oaky scent frames rich red fruited flavours and more savoury low-toned earthy and tree bark notes that develop with more air. Medium weight on the palate, yet the flavours are quite intense and linger for a while with each sip. Drinking perfectly now with the tannins fully integrated, and even better with lamb.
