January 16, 2024 - Flighted next to a perfect 2001, and this held its own. It delivered exactly what the 2007 vintage frequently does - enjoyment.

January 15, 2024 - Heidi's Gang: Wind Chill & Frostbite (Maison Margaux, Mpls): Medium red color. PNP, drank a glass over an hour plus. Drank this next to the '01 which started out big and brooding but eventually showed its beauty. But I will admit to being taked by the '07 right from the start. It's the pretty red fruits, the perfume and elegance that gets me every time in these classy '07 red burgs. Great acidity, tart red fruits, tart red berries, savory, earthy and filled with potpourri. Loved it, and the bottom of my glass proved it.

January 15, 2024 - Heidis Group In The Warehouse Dist MSP. Served in the same flt with an '01 Vogue Musigny and my 06 Mugnier Les Fuees. All 3 btl were stellar & we enjoyed the delineation between them w/ my Le Fuess being the most unique for its site position adjacent to Bonnes Mares. Candace's btl. This too was spectacular just slight overshadowed By Steve's 01 Moose & my 06 Mugnier Les Fuees. This was seriously beautiful and definitely one of the best 07s I've had from a vintage I also love. Maybe just the slightest amount of oak to yet integrate but nothing to pick about. This had a Cashmiere mouth feel and generosity of flavors hard to ignore. Think there was some leftover of this too but only in the interest of sobriety. Loved it! Wish I owned some myself!

December 2, 2023 - ESTG Year-End Tasting (Newcastle, WA): More mineral and austere than the 2001 tasted alongside at first impression. But it opened up more easily to savory, umami-laden core. Just silky and easy to enjoy. It has considerably less depth than the 2001, more to drink now or sooner.

April 21, 2023 - Atlanta Musigny & Chevy Dinner: PnP. Lighter and food friendly. Really showed how this is a vintage for drinking in the earlier term.

Burgundy-Report

(Comte Georges de Vogüé Musigny Vieilles Vignes) The nose offers an obvious first impression of flora, yet seems underpinned almost by 'texture' and a background hint of anise. In the mouth this is clearly cut from thicker cloth, yet manages to find all the hiding spaces in your mouth in order to attach its lingering flavours. The tannin has some grain to it, but that grain seems 'loaded' with flavour. Very, very complex despite my poor attempts to warm the glass. A wine that always impresses in this situation - bravo!
