    November 10, 2023 - Quick Notes Series
I must confess the above combination is really one that I could not enjoy, first I've never had a decent bottle of Eugenie, while I remained puzzled why Rene Engel wines were so delicious and Eugenie wines are so pale, it is even worse when it comes to Les Brulees. I've read over and over again that Brulees is considered one of the top 1er Crus but in reality I've never really had a good bottle. Therefore a combination between Brulees and Eugenie seems a little disastrous. The wine was quite inky and not so balanced. I cannot say I enjoyed this too much. Maybe this will taste marginally better in a couple of years but I don't really have high hopes on this.

September 14, 2022 - The raspberry fruit is overwhelmed by coffee and other roasted berries, along with a hint of VA. Drinkable nonetheless with a little Vosne spice showing up.

February 28, 2022 - Popped and poured and this was ready 30 min later. Nice balance and finish. Slightly lacking on the complexity front. This is certainly in its prime and is the best bottle I’ve had of this over the last 7 years. This should hold up well for another 5 years but there’s no sense in waiting.

December 18, 2020 - [Blind] Dark red berry with some heavy wood spice. Youthful but high breed and powerful. Somewhat stubborn with broad shoulders and wright that doesn't want to budge just now. Good spice. "Not shy with the oak" was commented at the table. Will be interesting to see how these develop because there is certainly sufficient fruit.

March 10, 2017 - Best bottle yet. Needs 2.5 hours to open. This will hold much longer than previously thought. In prime with another 5-10 years left on it.
