    August 29, 2020 - Strange nose and "cooked" taste on the palate. Did not finish bottle.

    NOSE: reticent; high-toned; earthy red fruits; {something a little weird & off-putting --- can't quite put my finger on it}

    BODY: light bodied; rustic ruby color with slight bricking throughout; color is of shallow-medium depth.

    TASTE: high acidity; gentle oak is the first flavor I noticed; thin and muddled fruits; nice & elegant, but lacks focus, which is surprising. Gut impression score: 87 - 88 ... but, wait ... seemed to turn a corner 4 hours after the first glass, showing increased (but still not great) focus, as well as a new savory note; now moving gut impression score up to 89 - 90. Overall, a weird showing, leaving me confused as to whether this is a Drink-Now-with-air wine, or one to continue Holding.

    March 19, 2017 - Arcadian Tasting (Shari's Place): Past peak. Mushrooms, woody, raspberry, and spices. Very little fruit left and short to medium finish. Surprised the wine owner suggested a decant on such an old Pinot. Might have been better without the decant.

    March 18, 2017 - Arcadian Tasting (Shari's Condo): Decanted 2 hours - which was probably a mistake. This wine is quite complex and savory, with mushroom, oak spice and green herbs. Unfortunately, it also tastes rather elderly. The palate is a bit hollow and the mouthfeel seems fragile.

    March 18, 2017 - Arcadian Tasting (Shari's, Mpls, MN): Medium red color. Two hour decant; followed a small glass over 30 minutes. The saving grace here is the nose, cherry, dried cherry, subtle earth and floral hints. The palate is tired with faded red fruit, woody, medium body. Perhaps would have been a bit better without the decant. 87+pts.
