December 1, 2012 - Pop/pour. Initially quite bright, but gains weight on both nose and palate after 10-15 minutes in the glass. At that point, nose carries both berries and a sweaty, funky leather. On the palate, a very rich mouthfeel. Sweet berries with a little dark funk to add character. CT suggests that this should have been consumed by 2011. I think that it's probably drinking right about peak today. A somewhat unusual aromatic / flavor profile for me. Unique is probably the better word. In any event, it works. A much bigger wine than I was expecting.

August 12, 2009 - Mistakenly thinking this was a white, I had thrown this wine into the refrigerator the day before. It turned out to be a very happy accident, as the chill from the fridge, coupled with the wine's lightness of body and bright, fruit-forward flavors, caused it to pair magnificently with a dinner of heirloom tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, olive oil, and fresh basil on french bread.

10/21/2008 (link)(NAICK 5) Pandora Dear Friends, A few late catches of intrigue to end the day. Both of these compete with the best in the South of France (at a far lesser price than CdP) so take note. The Pandora is a riveting wine - it will befuddle and electrify the room at a tasting of the most knowledgeable enthusiasts. It's been almost impossible for me to source, but I've finally found a parcel at about the same price as in Europe. People will be wowed by this in many ways - it's not a freak-effect wine, rather it has a proud sense of itself combined with a exotic style that is very enticing. The Naick 5 has been equally difficult to source but it's a wine that goes without saying - If you like substance, style and gleeful exaggeration (that is still balanced - how, I'm not sure) then you would do well to imbibe with the Naick 5 - think exotic Boisrenard ... 2004 Domaine de Courbissac Minervois la Liviniere "Pandora" 2005 L'Oustal Blanc "Naick 5" Thank you, Jon Rimmerman Garagiste Seattle, WA SOFR6380 SOFR6390
