Community Tasting Notes 5

April 26, 2015 - This was lovely - an exciting nose that followed through onto the palate to give great balance of mineral, herby sub-tropical fruits. These come out with more body and alcohol than you imagine from a mountain Italian wine, but it holds itself beautifully and was rightly enjoyed by everyone on the night.

February 5, 2011 - Promisingnose of quince, peach and orange blossom with slate minerality. Nice sweet attack with more peach and slate but a little off putting musty earth note on the finish hampers the overall experience.

April 10, 2010 - Nose of ripe fruit; peach, slight syrup; delightful. Amber yellow colour with good clarity. Thin front palate with light fruit and a little too much astringency. Somewhat unpleasant. Full rest of the palate with a solid finish and some spice at the right temperature. Darker orange fruit gave way to apple, pear.
Good with a balsalmic salad or goat's cheese tart/quiche.

July 11, 2009 - passion fruit and thistley green to the nose. given this fruit expression i wouldn't peg this as alto-adige. Jamie calls out piney. yes. nice acid to counter the lush fruit. hints of mineral in the extract as well. awesome.

July 10, 2009 - Grassy pete moss, rather incredible nose. More savvy than you think. The tasters note rather passion fruity and ripe for the Alto Adige. Intriguing. A touch of pine or thisle kind of thing.
