Community Tasting Notes 8

July 2, 2016 - (bought on release, perfect fill, cork fine, perhaps 4th bottle of 12, drunk with DH/JvS/JL). Gorgeous nose, pungent attack with curiously little in forepalate and then tremendous length. Reticent when first opened at perhaps 50-52F and best an hour later at room temperature - full, delicious Puligny fruit, quite long, this could not be anything except white Burg. Every bottle of 4 has been best when has warmed up to room temp. Will hold a few bottles for the long run as may improve - has the right bones - but it sure is delicious now! Would not serve at refrigerator temp and may benefit from a fast decant.

January 18, 2013 - Lemon gold, evolved colour. Developing nose with honeysuckle, tarte tatin, ripe stone fruit and beautifully balanced creamy oak. Rich and buttery but also mineral and elegant on palate with precise fruit and bright acidity. Lovely balance and concentration. To be enjoyed over the next 3-4 years.

January 8, 2013 - Very difficult for me to determine if a white wine is spectacular. This one was. Dry and complicated taste.

July 20, 2012 - Lemon in appearance with an evolved complex nose of marzipan, spicy oak, toast over a core of citrus & stone fruit. See breeze minerality present. Middleweight with good fruit definition, ripeness and finesse. Well balanced with a long finish. RTD but can keep for another 6 years.

May 26, 2012 - I must disagree with previous cellar tracker tasters regarding this wine. Moderate reduction noted on the nose. More evident on the palate, but only slightly detracting. No sign of premox. Needs more time to fully integrate the oak, but enough fruit present to balance.A little alcohol heat, but good acidity, and a long sweet finish.
