November 24, 2017 - Fantastic Syrah. Rich full bodied with classic note of blackberry, black cherry, savory meaty juice and baking spices. Lovely mouthfeel with spot on acidity.

May 11, 2016 - Big and floral nose: Boysenberry, chocolate, coffee, flowery perfume. It takes a little time to open up and is still a bit hot but tastes like: loamy earth, blueberries, quartz, candied cherry. Maybe not my style but I enjoyed it.

December 7, 2011 - Loving the nose (as on so many of the K/Smith wines) and its rich, heady meringue of dark cherries, sweet candy spices and most importantly, an initial blast of rice crispies treats (love that marshmellow smack) that comes from the rich vanilla in the oak. The body though is much too large and almost overripe in its intensity, with a rich zest of bacon and smokiness behind the big blackberry furit bramble. It's been open for three days and only on the third one did it finally become managable and really drinkable. If you've got any bottles, decant for at least three-four hours if you must open before 2013.

April 9, 2011 - OC4POKER IX - Adios Brian & Ashley; 4/2/2011-4/9/2011 (WCC - Irvine CA): 2xblind - guessed correctly although thought it was probably from Paso.

Super dark color with chartruse edges. Palate of dark cherry and full dose of oak. Heat, oak, and rough tannins finish it off. A little too much.

Very dark; oaky; probably Syrah; big; good, but not outstanding; tannic.

(K Vintners Pheasant Vineyard Syrah Wahluke Slope) Red licorice and rose petals mark the nose. Thick with grainy tannins on a wine that hasn’t come together completely. Tart and pleasing. Needs time but will be a powerhouse of a wine for the money. 191 cases produced.
