October 22, 2023 - Houston Northern Rhone Blowout: Also the best viogner that I’ve ever tasted. This was unctuous; dripping with pit fruit - white peach and nectarine, and flat out delicious. Nothing floral or soapy about it but fabulously concentrated and with ample acid, too. I was very impressed.

January 21, 2022 - An evening of Rhone (Ponte Vedre Club): Of the three Grillets this was the most expressive to me and the most in the right drinking window. The difference was mostly in the vibrancy but also a bit in how flavorful the wine is. More floral than the others. Bits of citrus. You can see some of the classic viognier coming through a bit more than it feels like it does in the other years.

October 27, 2021 - Chateau Grillet Tasting + after.... (De Gustibus + Hutong): Really fresh and bright. Acid there. A bit of honey and honeysuckle. Interesting change after the 2015.

June 13, 2021 - SLDS Single Bottle Dinner: Smoky and waxy nose with apricot, quince and lemon as well. Rich and ripe on the palate, plenty of acidity kicking in to counter the viscosity. Good length and drinking well at this stage. Great to try this wine with current vintage pricing well beyond any value proposition.
