Community Tasting Notes 10

October 28, 2017 - Medium garnet red with bricking on the edges. Layered nose and quite green with herbal notes, bell peppers, smoky, savory, meaty, light berries and a touch of mocha. Medium tannins (5.5/10) and solid acidity. Medium plus body with notes of bell peppers, savory elements and a touch of dark berries. Very dry and long finish. Drink till 2019.

January 23, 2016 - 4th Saturday Group brown bagger (Rick's & Cris'): Crimson core with noticeable bricking. Opens with tobacco, black currant and plum notes. Tannins are fully-integrated leaving plenty of fruit- plum and ripe dark fruits. It also has a stemmy quality and is definitely on the riper side of the spectrum. Falls apart in the glass rather quickly though, soon showing tea and then bouillon as the fruit fades. We had it pegged as a Cab-based blend but couldn't come up with its origin.

Assuming this is a representative sample, this is already in severe decline- drink now- probably just better used in your braising liquid.

August 8, 2015 - Solid wine, finished all in one go, has a couple years left in it

August 8, 2015 - More balanced than the Rubissow 2008 and the Chalk Hill 2003 which we were drinking. Nice cassis nose with light tannins. 6/10 but wine is balanced and drinkable. Body is medium.

If I wasn't comparing to those two it may get a point or two lower. An interesting confusion for me.

March 29, 2011 - Black color. Sweet entry of herbal infused black fruit flavors. Finishes with chalky tannins. Slightly youthful still & a tad austere but lovely. Tasted blind.
