July 11, 2023 - Third bottle of this. I am bumping up the score a bit. The second bottle was faintly corked so I poured it out and opened this one. No time for a decant, so still firm. The tannins are stronger than expected. Good cherry, menthol and cedar notes. Needs food. I am tempted to keep some bottles for another five years to see how it develops. Either way, good now as long as expectations are not too high.
Added comments from bottle on August 2023: This was decanted for over an hour. It was very nice. Good core of red fruit, not too tannic but still structured. Great with food. Better than it gets credit. Glad to drink it. -

June 18, 2023 - Nose: Dusty earth and wet soil, touch of cassis and wet hay. Palate: chalky blackberries, bit of meatiness; gum coating tannins; on day two, the wine is still well structured but the fruit has more cranberry and less blackberry characteristics. I was surprised at how tannic this older vintage was, as it were on par with the 2014 and 2018 Potensac vintages we had as part of a vertical tasting and was my favorite of the night.

June 11, 2023 - I love the phrase “un vin gouleyant”. It is that. Pleasant and easy to drink guzzling wine, which has its place. Good with burgers and time to drink now.
