April 19, 2013 - Expressive and full-bodied but soft and well rounded fruit. Nothing striking - no edge, but quite full and rich. Great example of an appropriately aged Shiraz.

January 7, 2011 - Almost dumped the bottle after a pop and pour. Definitely tasted past its prime. But not being one to dump a bottle, I hung in there and soon the funk blew off to reveal some tasty dark fruits and light pepper. Actually very pleased in the end. So don't wait too much longer for this one, and when you open let it breathe.

August 10, 2010 - This bottled was opened, paper filtered and decanted leaving a moderate residue of silt in the filter and yielding a dark, purple liquor with a deep aroma of what seemed almost like cedar -- as if it were a Bordeaux. After a short period of swirling and twirling, we tasted it. It was uncharacteristcally soft for a Syrah, lacking a lot of the spice we had been expecting. Expectations aside, however, the bottle was seriously good: frut forward, with an appealing complexity on the finsh. As time passed it grew softer and fruitier, although there was a mid-palate hint of spice as it evolved.

February 28, 2010 - Was tasting better before the US lost the hockey gold to Canada...

January 12, 2010 - Dark purple/black. Nose of dark fruits and spice. Full-bodied with integrated tannins and great balancing acidity. There's definitely a cinnamon component and maybe a bit of bacon or other rich meat to complement the dark fruits. Very tasty. Drink remaining within 1-2 years.
