April 15, 2021 - One of the bottles I opened for my 33rd birthday. It was a true treat to try this alongside an ‘88 Napa (Sterling Diamond Ranch), and while the Sterling outperformed this, it was a generous gift and fun to try.
This gets a rating of NR. Provenance seemed solid and fill was great. I wasn’t familiar with this producer, but it just seemed to never wake up. It wasn’t flawed, or wasn’t terrible, it just seemed like non-descript old Bordeaux. Lots of old fig, watered down herbs, leather and Brett. After I let it sit open in the bottle for an hour, I moved it to a decanter and tried ever so often over the course of the next two hours...didn’t change. -

November 29, 2020 - This wine was great with a slow roasted Greek-style leg of lamb. The ullage of this bottle was at the top of the neck. It looked thin and slightly brick colored in the glass and it was tight when first poured, but it opened up in around 20 minutes. Then... full berry flavors with a hint of coffee and toffee/caramel. The finish was long and silky. Very good.

March 13, 2015 - A lot of tannins, ripe figs, sweet mouthfeel, blood, a bit challenging to me, a steak wine, could be bottle variation since the previous bottle was much easier.

July 5, 2013 - Attractive nose, still fresh and youthful, spicy aromatics, earth, good in its price class.

June 16, 2011 - Cork was distroyed... but the wine was great. Slight bricking around the edges. It was tight when first poured but opened up quickly with stong aromas of blackberry jam. Full body and strong flavers of blackberry, currant and coffee. with a silky finish last seemed to last forever... Very good.
