February 24, 2022 - Clear, medium+ ruby, significant fading at rim

Very attractive. Dusty black cherries and strawberry with signs of development in the form of raisin and prune. Nicely integrated oak with delicate notes of worn leather and chocolate.

Lovely balance. Tannins are firm, just begging for a salty protein. Alcohol kisses the back of the palate.

Stunning wine with lovely harmony. Black cherry, garrigue, dust, leather and spice. Minty and herbal. Hard to put this wine down.

    Excellent length. Drink now.

December 12, 2021 - It’s good but a little “hot”, even after a 2 hour decant. 15% alcohol and the fruit doesn’t quite stand up to it. This is my last one - the prior one was almost 3 years ago. I didn’t do a note then but I don’t remember the heat - I think it was better then. RP96 in 2009 but this is 2021. Drink up for sure. And decant - it has tons of sediment.

December 25, 2020 - 1/2. Garnet color with bricking edges. Smells like blue and black fruits, along with cherry and kirsch, graphite and crushed rocks, black tea, and some barrel spice. Medium body, high acid, long finish, noticeable 15% alcohol, robust and bombastic on the palate, with flavors of kirsch, some darker fruits, orange peel, and notable spiciness. A bit overdone for my general preference, but worked well enough with our rib roast tonight. A bit of a punch to the mouth standalone post meal though.

December 19, 2020 - Drinking well. Notes of underbrush and forest floor. Let this decant for at least an hour. Cheers.
