October 25, 2019 - Georg Breuer - Double vertical Schlossberg / Nonnenberg 1996-2008 (Weingut Georg Breuer, Rüdesheim, Germany): Glass: Stölzle White
All wines (except where noted otherwise) where double decanted about 7-10h before tasting. This flight was served blind, only vintage was known.
Youthful, pale golden color. Nose was a bit muted with lots of wet stones.
On the palate very fresh with a wonderful racy acidity. Great mineral core. Tangerine, zests, bitter orange. Precise, cool, lean and very elegant, wonderful length and still very young. I was so surprised to see, that this is Roseneck. What a great surprise! 94-95 -

March 4, 2018 - A finely chiselled wine. Well-developed and lively nose, slightly smoky, hint of lanolin (not petrol), well-defined fruit (citrus, apple, peach), mineral depth; harmonious palate, medium body (12.5% ABV), lovely interplay of elegantly succulent fruit and delicately angular minerality; seamless but saliva-inducing acidity carries the light but persistent flavours through to the moderately long finish. Subtle, almost introverted, but has poise and focus. Ready.

May 14, 2016 - Showing very well today and developing much better than I anticipated a few years ago. Complex and deep nose of spiced peaches, white flowers and intense minerality, very pure and with only the merest hint of TDN; the palate is juicy and energetic, with crisp acidity and the slightly angular build that is so typical for Breuer; quite a stony finish, very good length. At peak, drink now - 2020.

May 7, 2016 - Had it with Emrich-Sconleber Fruhlingplatzen '07 two make comperasion to Rheingau / Nahe. Breuer was more crisp citrus and acidity, with greener colour. More power. Emrich more deeper gold colour, with more develop fruit of pineapple, apples and roasted toast. Both 92-93p.
