February 26, 2019 - Received as a gift and opened without much expectations, I was rewarded with an elegant, harmonious, and classically styled St. Émilion, that is drinking wonderfully right now and has potential for a least 5 more years.

December 12, 2015 - Moderately translucent blackish-red cherry color. Quite developed and complex nose with aromas of fresh dark berries, wizened red plums, leather, some smoky tones, light notes of cigar box, a little bit of roasted aromatic herbs, light herbaceous note of bell pepper and an aged hint of dusty earth. The nose is quite tertiary but not showing any signs of downhill yet. The wine is dry, ripe and full-bodied on the palate with complex, developed flavors of slightly wizened black cherries, juicy red berries, some woody pencil shaving tones, a little bit of crunchy redcurrant and a hint of leather. The wine is quite high in acidity with rather ample yet still more silky and textural than grippy tannins. The finish is long, developed and gently grippy with complex flavors of savory dark fruits, dried black cherries, some leather, slightly bitter earthy spice, a little bit of woody pencil shavings character, a hint of earthiness and a touch of fresh redcurrants.

A very harmonious, poised and classically built St. Émilion red with all the hallmarks of the traditional style: silky yet firm mouthfeel, ripe yet more savory than sweet red-toned fruit and lots of aging potential making the wine exhibit wonderful complexity. At 21 years of age the wine is drinking wonderfully, being at or very close to its peak. There's no real hurry to open these, since the wine is exhibiting no signs of tiredness yet. Probably it won't develop much from here, but it can still keep easily for another 5-10 years if not more. Great value at 39,50€.

June 1, 2008 - Although this wine is not really great, it was a very pleasant wine to drink after several quite simple new world reds. There is pleasant developed oak. Juice. Little pepper. There is a good amount of acidity. There still is some tannin, but I don’t think the wine will develop to be better. Lacks in body and real complexity.

March 25, 2007 - Deep brick in color. Plum and strawberry on the nose with a touch of cinnamon spice. Not terribly deep or typically Bordeaux, but pleasant. Smooth initial attack, but under ripe, acidic and not a lot of fun thereafter. Decent, but no better. (75)
