October 3, 2022 - Birthday dinner at SSG: Definitely old-school in a sense of not being the cleanest, and without any polish or heavy extraction. Strong bell pepper note on the nose, high acidity with good depth on the palate. However it felt like the sour cherry fruit was fading relative to the tannins. Not one for the faint-hearted but I enjoyed it. From what I have gathered the winery has been sold and this is the top cuvee with old vines.

March 18, 2021 - Excellent. Shimmering dark cherry red with some thinning at the edge and very little bricking. Perfect aging Loire Cab Franc nose. Think of a classy and classic Bourgueil and that is this wine. Showing some aged character but still very fresh! Leafy and tobacco notes with violets, red fruits, pencil shaving, granite-like minerality. Medium finish that is lightweight. Tannins are fine and easy. So great at the table with a chicken and chanterelles with cream sauce dish

This was from magnum. I do wonder whether the prior notes, all but one of which are from the same UK-based CT member, were from regular bottles. Mine was purchased a couple of years ago from a retailer claiming cellar provenance. What a great buy at $40 USD.

October 19, 2019 - Disappointing, this was clearly past its best - muted fruit and a fading finish, albeit drinkable.

July 24, 2016 - Colours dark with orange appearing at the rim. Flavouring knitting and broadening. Still raspberry start but now plum and leather in the mouth, hints of tobacco and jam. Drying on the finish.

June 16, 2013 - Brick colours starting to emerge at rim. Light, but quite dry. Hints of tobacco emerging, with touch of raspberry, but short on fruit. Not really appealing to me yet.
