May 27, 2023 - 2007 Corra Cabernet, Napa Valley. I've been debating when to open this wine and was in the mood for a 'classic' cab with integrated fruit and lots of structure. Unfortunately, that is NOT what I got. This is still incredibly primary and fruit forward. It's not 'bad' by any means and I certainly didn't hate it....it just wasn't what I was looking for. And frankly, this feels like a huge miss drinking it now. Oh well....it's impossible to time a wine perfectly. But for anyone who still has a bottle of this, HOLD!! It will definitely be worth it.

March 27, 2023 - Tasted with five other 2007 Napa Cabs and this was by far the group's favorite. Not many signs of age and well integrated. This has many more years left.

November 13, 2022 - Such a beautiful wine. Brought on our anniversary trip to Savannah (married in 2007). Reservation at Common Thread, a fantastic farm to table type place, where a big Napa cab does not necessarily fit. But wow did this go well with some raw fish, which brought out a ton of baking spice flavors in the wine, and amazing with the one steak option that my wife and I shared. Cork was in great shape, wine smelled amazing and fresh - what you would expect a Cabernet to smell like, with a perfect amount of age. This one was so fresh, but so well integrated. We love this producer/wine maker, but haven’t had many older examples. The red fruit on the nose was excellent, with really no tertiary notes. On the palate it was perfectly integrated, and complex red fruit. Not overdone with oak, and well integrated tannins. A great wine, on a really enjoyable night.

September 15, 2022 - Luis rides again (without falling off!) (Tilia): This was quite a divisive tasting, but it did show how different palates appreciate different wines! I admit, I am a fruit lover, but my preference is that short window where the primary fruit is balanced by some secondary/tertiary flavors. This wine definitely leans on the fruit side of the spectrum, which I prefer to leaning too heavily on the tertiary side. In my opinion, this wine will still improve with some additional time, but it is honestly a crap shoot....I have not had enough experience to discern if these wines will develop more profound tertiary flavors, or if the alcohol/heat will become more prevalent. I can say, that if you like your wines on the fruit side of the spectrum, this wine will not disappoint now. If you prefer more tertiary flavors in your wines, you may want to chance waiting a few more years, or a very long decant (3+ hours).

Nose showed plenty of florals, dark fruit and cocoa notes with some earth and tar notes. Palate was mostly dark fruit and chocolate, with earth, tobacco and some vanilla notes. 93+ to 94 for me.

September 15, 2022 - Luis actualy DOES show up for his own tasting (Tilia): Pop and pour, drank a glass over 1.5 hours. This bottle was surprisingly consistent with one that was shared in 2015. This seemed to be a rather straight-forward well made and relatively young California cab. Rich with lots of cocoa. Since it's still "drinking young" I rather take it to mean that the fruit is still hanging on, and there may not be anything more to it. But what do I know.
