Community Tasting Notes 5

October 28, 2018 - From magnum. 1 hr air. Amazing nose of blackberry pie and crushed gravel. On the palate, extremely dark and velvety with great persistence. So concentrated it stains the glass. Still a little tannic with not many signs of age. If I had another one, I would hold for 4-5 more years. The sweet spot for Kamen's regular cab (from 750ml) is generally 8-10 years, which is why I opened this now. With time, the complexities will develop and make this very good wine great.

92 points; purchased from Brentwood wine auctions in September 2012 for $123 all-in (steal of century!!!!)

May 12, 2016 - I believe this will improve. I pulled some from the bottle with the coravin. Deep, rich, layers of dark fruits and milk chocolate. Spicy finish. This is very good. I believe in a few more years or with a proper decant of 6-8 hours this will score 95+

August 14, 2014 - Magical. In a sweet spot. Wonderful dark fruit with long finish. Highly recommend.

May 9, 2012 - In an eight bottle Cali Cab tasting, this was my second favorite and the one with the most potential over the next few years. Still a bit tight, which is why I look forward to trying down the road. Super long finish.

September 4, 2011 - Needed about an hour decant before a dense, beautiful fragrant wine emerges. Progressively better throughout the night. Wonderful mouthfeel of rich fruit and chocolate. The tannins are seamless. Outstanding Cuvee from Kamen.
