Community Tasting Notes 1

September 9, 2012 - Ruby red and somewhat translucent in color, pink halo. Bountiful fruit aroma - but more in the raspberry fruit profile. Spice and wood are nicely integrated into the nose. With time the aroma transitions and loses some fruit and adds a touch of unsmoked cigar. Flavor is full and fruity. The flavor has more of the darker red fruits, but there is a touch of sweetness seen with lighter red fruit also. The finish has a nice tartness without any heat. This wine captures the essence of grape, it is not about technique or terroir.
