Community Tasting Notes 5

December 22, 2015 - Tasted this at my Father-in-law's place with my Brother-in-law.

Rounded, smooth, oaky but the body and structure are slowly but surely failing.

Still good at this stage, but finish up whatever stock you have left soon.

October 20, 2015 - Drank this at my in-laws place with my brother-in-law with buttered crabs.

Blooming like a flower with rich, mature notes of ripe berries. Some mushrooms and smoky aromas. Singing at the top of its voice without any complexity or surprises.

Drink up if you have any left.

September 30, 2015 - Drank this wine at a celebration dinner at Roland Restaurant.

My opinion of this wine has been consistent over the years of tasting: harsh when first opened, gentle, soft, feminine and charming after 30 minutes of breathing. Brick red in colour with notes of ripe plums and a distinctive smoky aroma, this wine has an amazing QPR.

At 7 years of age for an entry level wine, it is also probably reaching the end of its drinking period. If you have any more of this wine, do consider consuming it within the next 1 to 2 years.

March 3, 2015 - Drank this wine tonight at my in-law's place over a family dinner.

Very consistent with notes from my previous entries.
Nice aromas of oak and sweet red fruits on the nose and palate.
Overall this is a very balanced and rounded wine that can pair with a wide range of food choices.

    Predictable, reliable and trustworthy.

January 30, 2015 - Drank this wine tonight at my in-law's place over a family dinner.

Dark purple in colour with reddish hues on the sides. A very fruity nose with ripe plums and prunes. On the palate this wine is very rounded, slightly oaked with notes of blueberry, leather, some vanilla and purple fruits.

Smooth and elegant finish. Easy going in style; has sufficient energy in the body but doesn't overpower or overwhelm.

An ideal wine for a causal dinner which will pair well with a wide range of dishes.
