Community Tasting Notes 5

June 17, 2011 - Clear, purple colour. Nice floral nose. The palate leaves a little to be desired. Not a lot of tannins and as I got into this wine it really started to taste like welches grape juice. Decent wine, but not a rebuy.

January 26, 2011 - This was a very nice Bandol. Nothing subtle about this one. Lots of blackberry/mulberry fruit. Enough acidity and strong tannin to stand up to the fruit. Would be excellent with lamb. I think this will improve over the next few years of cellaring and should drink well for 5-7 more years. If opened now allow for 90 minuts or so decant time. Purchased in Nice for 16 euros.

December 7, 2009 - One hour after popping the cork:
Deep ruby color with some hints of purple at the rim. Ripe aromas of blackcurrant and dark cherry with some black peper and hints of mint. Following trough medium-full bodied with some serious acidity and mouth coating tannins. Medium-long finish. Well balanced and integrated, but could smoothen out a little more. Has the structure to develop for quite some time. Drink now - 2016

August 8, 2009 - Other Reds and Whites (Farpointe Cellar): The nose had berries, and a little vanilla. The palate was sodt, and had blackberry, spice, dirt, and peppery finish.

July 11, 2009 - The Aroma and Taste was on the fruit level but not too over the top where it was canadied it was there but a good balance, Fruit Driven tho. Tannins on the low side so a drink now. A good wine to drink with people who are not wine drinkers IMO but will hold up to people who do drink wine fairly often.
