  March 15, 2013 - My past experience with this rarely seen grape was a very good 2002 which benefited from 5 extra years of ageing. So I think the tannins on this could use a few more years to soften. None the less an interesting experience.

  December 13, 2011 - Very interesting and unique wine. From my research, Uruguay winemakers pretty much have a lock on the process for Tannat. Another I tried from California wasn't good. But this wine is actually quite good. You can tell it's normally used in blends to add structure and body. On it's own, it's huge, dense - black fruits barely discernible through the thicket of tannins. With a hearty stew, it works. I'd consider buying more if I can find it.

  July 1, 2010 - Dark purple, full-bodied wine. Nose is dominated by leather, with blackberry undertones. Very intense tannins, supported by an abundance of black fruit. Very long finish. This is an intriguing wine, very distinctive and well worth trying. A bit rough around the edges, but attractive, nevertheless.
