March 10, 2014 - Appréciation constante. Une belle bouteille parfumée, épicée, avec encore un peu d'élevage. Belle texture crémeuse, du fruit à revendre, un bon rapport qualité-prix.

August 15, 2012 - Full and bright and a strong glint of northern Italian sun. It's heavy on the oak, but it's forgiven for the pure sunshine it brings and the QPR. Please drink responsibly. 50/5/12/14/8

January 27, 2012 - P&P, half of the bottle at restaurant, the rest aerated to glass at home. Color ruby red loaded with dark hues largely attributable to 2-3 tablespoons of fine sediment, medium-full body. Bouquet is dense and a bit restrained even with air, showing some dark fruit, leather, twinges of cherry tomato and flowery notes, a little tar, and oak. Seems mildly evolved, which adds a little complexity. On the attack there is some blackberry and plum, but I wouldn't say there is the "sumptuous rich massive fruit" Galloni describes. The dark fruit is wrapped in dark earth, leather, spice, a little chocolate, and oak. Mid is similar with dark fruit and earth, seems nondescript. The finish stretches longer than expected and is most interesting for me, with bright zingy cherries bouncing up through a layer of dark earth, chocolate, and bits of tobacco. Acid is medium-high, at least in the finish, tannins are medium-full, fine, and fairly well integrated giving it noticeable texture. Paired well with penne a la vodka and wood fired meatballs in a hearty tomato sauce. Very good but not particularly memorable. OK value at 22.
