Community Tasting Notes 2

  • IJC Likes this wine:

    August 13, 2020 - Very nice.

Notes of cinnamon and spiced apple cider, lovely stuff.
The color transparent and at the meniscus, ever-so-slightly burnt red (not rust, and definitely not tired), the transparency and lightness the key in this description. The same can be said of the nose - soft, subtle, gentle - words which also describe the taste. There is just enough acidity left to give the wine lift.

Time to enjoy whatever bottles may remain in your cellar; I intend to do so. Also, time to open the 1er cru of this vintage!

    For a Bourgogne, outstanding.
    Rated +2 on a scale of -1 to +3.

July 30, 2009 - good fruit, straight forward entry level bourgogne from a vintage where I have had some success with bourgogne rouge. A bit tart cherry on the end, however, with a simple meal consisting of my own home fried rice (celeriac, carrots, pancetta, spanish sausage, cucumber, arborio rice, corn, serrano chile, soy sauce and sherry vinegar) this dissappeared. nose is pleasant. Some oak but not so much it disturbs. Well integrated and suspect that it will not develop much beyond it's present form.
