Community Tasting Notes 6

August 27, 2012 - 2003 Syrah/Shiraz (Tasted Blind) (Rich and Peggy's House, Los Altos, California): Some browning on the edges. Gorgious nose with white pepper and aged fruits. Very smooth palate. Tasted Blind.
    Correctly guessed as Shiraz.

January 30, 2009 - A great wine with nice balance. This is not a light bodied shiraz, it is definitely new world, showing blackberries, melted licorice, and a tad of menthol. Some heat, but great tannins and nice acids really balance this wine out nicely.

November 5, 2008 - Dark and fruity but not a fruit bomb. Smooth, pretty well balanced. A little bit of heat. Nice little wine.

January 20, 2007 - Drank over 2 nights. Nose has hints of canphor and lots of fruit. Very smooth on the palate with chocolate and some herbs. Not the fruit bomb I expected. A little heat on the finish. Very nice for the price.

September 20, 2006 - Exactly as remembered - lush dark fruit and great value.
