February 9, 2017 - What a nice surprise. Pretty nose with a hint of barnyard (which disapears after one hour), still deep colour, on the palate full of tertiary flavours, medium bodied and elegant, very satisfying finish.
Flawless BX in a traditional style.

December 28, 2016 - Surprisingly deep ruby still. Leads of mature black fruits, some plum too. Smoke, cedar, cinnamon, cured meats. Good structure, fine acidity. Still a tannic kick. Maybe just a touch earthy or rustic. Did fade a bit over the evening but a very good performance at such an age. Lovely.

May 23, 2012 - 2012 CellarTracker Bordeaux Trip; 5/21/2012-5/24/2012 (Bordeaux, France): 71% Merlot / 14% Cabernet Sauvignon / 14% Cabernet Franc / 1% Malbec. From double magnum, decanted 30 minutes. This has a gorgeous nose, that while showing a bit of its age remains youthful and expressive. Aromas of rich dark dried fruits, sweet cassis, dark plums, leather, and some cedar. Beautiful aged expressive palate displaying sweet dark cherries and plums, cassis, prunes, lead pencil, lots of spicy black pepper, saddle leather, toasted oak, and a touch of muddled fresh mint leaves. Still a good amount of dusty tannins remain coupled with a medium+ amount of crisp acidity. A medium length finish rounds this out with notes of graphite and dark dried fruits. This is beautifully mature and right in its prime window, yet still showing years of life ahead. This was very enjoyable, while expressive and slightly sweet on the palate, shows great balance and integration. Very good+
