February 18, 2023 - Much better than my last bottle 5 years ago. Good basic flavor and tannins weren’t hammering my mouth like last time. Decanted for an hour and drank over 4 or 5 hours. Not sure tannins will resolve further, so drink up. But no particular urgency if you still have a few.

April 23, 2021 - Purchased directly from Harlan. Deep rust color. Mocha, raspberry, cherry, mulberry, red currant (spectrum of red fruits), purple flowers with light oak flavor, oiled soft saddle leather and some subtle Asian spice. Some rose and lavender nuances. Bright, vibrant wine with long, gorgeous finish. This is what collecting and patience is about.

p.s. beef stroganoff with cauliflower purée

November 15, 2020 - Lots of evolution in the glass, this has years of life left in it. As expected this is a big wine in need of some steaks still quite delicious

April 26, 2020 - Still dark and bold after 24 years with a strong nose of black fruit and spice. The palate is opulent and rich with flavors of plum and molasses. More rustic and straightforward than the first label but still powerful and enticing.

May 22, 2019 - Dark fruit, pencil shavings and some cigar box on the nose. Still very tannic at first pour. This will take hours to fully open up. Still drinking very well.
