August 10, 2021 - L. 09 - so a solera of the vintages 2005-2009. No date on back label, but probably disgorged in Spring 2013. Nicely developed with complex aromas, vertical structure and brilliant acidity. A great experience of aged Laherte. Should keep for several years more. (Disclaimer: ITB with Swedish importer Vin & Natur)

September 3, 2020 - Candied fruit, orange marmalade, biscotti, biscuits, bruised apple, quinine, grapefruit, minerals. Quite complex and long in a vinous and elegant style, Lot.09 (solera 2005-2009). All 7 grape varietals leaves me humbled and intrigued at the same time.

October 22, 2016 - A nice mouthful of baked apples, lemony mineral, fine bubbles and caramel notes. Drink now.

    May 29, 2016 - A bad bottle, oxidized

May 23, 2015 - Blind Champagne Tasting: Very floral, lemon, orange peel and light toast. Good acidity here drives the palate and it is crisp but not harsh. I wouldn't mind a touch of dosage here to soften but I was happy to drink it.

(NV LAHERTE Les Clos Extra-Brut) Champagne Dear Friends, As Easter approaches, I dangle a single word in front of you...Unique. A word that is often abused in the wine-trade but personifies the electric Champagne of this producer, this parcel is a unique peek into the looking glass that defines an individual style. If you long for a singular expression that combines indigenous varietals with an attitude that could care less about the accepted norm in Champagne, look no further than the fastidiously crafted wines of Laherte... NV Laherte Freres Les Clos Extra-Brut (2005) Laherte Freres Les Vignes d'Autrefois Pinot Meunier Extra Brut Please note: Laherte is for those with a flexible notion of their wine boundaries - if you favor something like Bollinger or Krug, stay very far away. If you lean toward Jerome Prevost, Cedric Bouchard or any of the other important young-guns, Laherte is even more extreme in their expression of the Extra-Brut style (with arguably two of the most admired wines in all of Champagne among the underground, the Les Clos and Vigne d'Autrefois). It's impossible to pick a favorite between the two wines - it's not about a 93 vs. a 90 pt score - that's missing the point entirely. EXTREMELY LIMITED Thank you, Jon Rimmerman Garagiste Seattle, WA Champ9520
