  July 28, 2013 - Early Birthday Celebration (Chicago): From magnum obtained directly from the Domaine just over 4 years ago. Opened 45 minutes before trying and then decanted and drank over the next 3 hours or so. A mix of dried red and black fruit with notes of damp earth, worn leather, black truffle and savory herbs. Medium bodied on the palate and I would say at its peak, but will hold for another couple years (with this provenance).

  August 23, 2009 - Another weekend of Excess; 8/21/2009-8/24/2009 (Chicagoland): From Magnum obtained from the Domaine 2 months ago. Dried red fruits (cranberry, cherry, rhubarb) on the nose with some earthy spice and a bit of truffle. Great on the palate, lots of mineral and structure. Nice acidity on the finish. A excellent wine but somewhat young in this format.
