December 23, 2021 - Late Dec 2021: golden brown amber color; indulging nose of baked apples, molasses and malt; in the mouth an opulent softness backed up by a gentle but distinct fruity acidity; mellow sweetness on the palate; very long finish.

    Great stuff!

April 5, 2017 - The Rotating Dinners, I.8: Alsace (Chicago, IL): Between the 93 and 94, there were a few of us who said similar things about the opposite wines. So who knows what's really going on? I thought this was a bit of a heftier wine, showing a bit too brooding. This was very big, and although this did have the necessary acidity, it wasn't able to lift up this clunkier wine.

April 18, 2014 - France: 38 Wines from Kermit Lynch (E&R Wine Shop, Portland OR): I pulled this to my nose and immediately had a wide smile. Awesome aromas! So rich and beautiful. Somehow, like liquefied gold. Aromas of starfruit and honeysuckle. I could smell this for days. Very nice and penetrating on the palate. Such depth. Rich honeysuckle that's killer. Nice botrytized notes. Mellow, but rich acidity. Puckering and tart on the impressively clean finish. Nice lingering notes. A lovely wine.

March 23, 2013 - White Burgundy followed by many others (Sydney, Australia): Dark coloured but not more than expected. Honey, marmalade, some botrytis, spice and floral aromas. Palate is very well balanced with great acidity and fruit restraint, it only hints at a light splash of residual sugar (though it is technically 28 g/l). Opened up more with time in the glass and I thought it was an interesting wine.
