Community Tasting Notes 8

August 14, 2010 - The tasting notes below hit the nail on the head - very Gruner-like. Our bottle started off on a very aldehydic/bruised apple note that seemed to blow off in time. Blossomed into an exotic wine featuring a nutty, apple-y richness, finishing with a distinct white pepper note and pleasing minerality. Complex and interesting wine but comes off a little heavy for my taste, the waxiness and fatness of the wine overshadowed the acidity, making it more pleasing without food rather than with (arancini, scallop crudo, charcuterie) . Good value.

March 22, 2010 - Very disappointing compared to my two previous experiences with this wine. This was fat and flabby and entirely lacking the tension and firm acidity I've previously found. Strange closure I've not seen before, looks a bit like a silicone neocork with the bottom half replaced by a condom-like device. Purchased at Paul Marcus Wines.

March 6, 2010 - This wine was opened and poured. It showed well from beginning to finish. The aromatics show minerals, stones, citrus and a subtle nutty element. The color is a very light yellow that is vibrant and youthful. The light bodied palate shows a combination of waxy viscosity with mineral and stone elements. The acidity gives the wine precision and keeps the viscous elements from dominating.

March 2, 2010 - Clear with light lemon color. Nose of citrus, minerals and slightly nutty.. I would concur that wine was
GrĂ¼ner Veltliner like.. Viscus consistency, with excellent acid. I would highly recommend. The first time I have had a wine made from the Timorasso grape.. Excellent bang for the buck

February 6, 2010 - Zucca: EWG: Really strong nose with nutty, vinous character but with nice fruit and a touch of honey, and even floral notes. Very complex. It had a silky, viscous texture and packed in the flavors as well, with lots of extract and a really long finish. This was not a shy wine at all, but really good and very interesting and had a lot of class. I loved this, although it seemed a bit hot
