November 26, 2023 - deep nose, unfortunately dominated by cocoa nibs notes; palate shows polished tanins good length, but here again, cocoa nibs notes dominate. it seems that this wine is shut for the moment. too bad

December 25, 2022 - Aus der Doppelmagnum, 1 Stunde dekantiert, purpurfarben im Glas, keiner lei Alterungsanzeichen, Bukett nach schwarzen Beeren, jugendlich am Gaumen, fester Kern, wieder dunkle Beeren, mineralische Note, Abgang mittellang. Hat noch Potenzial

April 14, 2022 - I think this is in a great place right now. Still pretty bright dark fruit given the 22 years of age. (blackberries and plums, mostly), a lot of cumin, caraway, and allspice, old leather and a powerful balsamic note. Great acid still, mellow tannins, medium + body. Clearly this was built to last.

Excellent pairing with Pappardelle with Lamb Ragu.

November 12, 2021 - I agree with the last note. This is very youthful. I would certainly it this 5 years or more. I wonder how it will turn out. Not convincing at this point.

November 8, 2019 - Everyone thought this was younger than it is. Very little bricking. Dense and rich, I assumed it was a Riserva. No rush to drink, still has several years of evolution ahead. Ask me what I think in 5 years.
