Community Tasting Notes 2

January 17, 2011 - Bought at the Winery in 2000 and properly cellared, this one made it (it is a shame how many don't) Still fresh, maybe slightly fading. Mostly full color to the rim, a dark magenta. Roasted blueberry fruit on the nose, with a really nice licorice background. Some oak, and some alcohol on the nose also. Totally integrated, all the components are in a mature balance. The acid has reduced leaving a slightly sweet taste on the palate. The tannins can be felt on the roof of the mouth, but are silky smooth. Medium bodied. The finish is a combination of roasted blackberry, with a small amount of tobacco, cola and graphite. This bottle will not last long enough
