March 20, 2024 - How decadently arresting the 1929 Gruaud Larose is, bursting with succulent wild raspberry, macadamia, old leather, cedar, toffee, and sweet tea. This still boasts healthy tannin, but it's so easy, fragrant, and full. For me, the '29 style is utterly irresistible, ravishing yet classic at the same moment. A great Gruaud Larose. Unlike the '28, there's some rush to drink these now. Mid shoulder fill. I equivocated between 96 and 97 points; while maybe there could have been a little more definition, I found it so enchanting and really couldn't stop thinking about it.

March 18, 2024 - Nose: Iodine, Apricot, Molasses and some brown butter notes. Palate: Silky red berry fruit with brown butter, clove, tarragon and cigar wrapper notes. Lot of glycerin holding this together, and sweet cedar.

For my palate this was much more faded than the Beychevelle beside it, but still a really nice wine that demonstrates the pretty and seductive nature of the 1929's.

May 25, 2023 - BYO Litteraturhuset "Best Wine": Svært utviklet, colabrun farge med svakt, dypt rødskjær. 94 år gammel og "still going strong" - fantastisk!

May 21, 2016 - Richter Raritäten Degustation Volume IV - Magnum Edition (all wine out of Magnum): Red berries, very elegant with quite a strong acidity, but nevertheless the wine manages to be balanced. Great wine, very highly rated but not in that muscular, rich, powerful way than the other wines tasted tonight

April 18, 2015 - Absolutely thrilling nose of raspberries, earth, leather, old wood, menthol and tobacco. Touch of banana oil as well. This all could be found on the palate but the highlight was the freshness and detail all packaged with a wonderfully glossy texture that just cannot be achieved without significant age. This wine was a real treat to drink and was going strong after 2 hours in the glass. Amazing and thank you SK.
