September 21, 2020 - Bought 4 btls of this a decade ago at Premier Cru for $25 (and you wonder why that guy had to turn to crime!). Sold 3 btls over the years, and thought this was as good a night as any to dip into the final one. Absolutely classic middle-aged white burg. Lovely slate, mineral, lemon peel, and peach pits. Kiss of oak. Acid balance is perfect and this goes on forever. Just stupid good. As a village level PM this seems to be punching way above its weight, although this is a Sauzet after all. I have some of Sauzet PM La Garennes that I am now excited about getting in to. With grilled salmon, zucchini, and Caesar salad... not too bad for a Monday night in COVID times.

September 2, 2016 - Similar notes to previous tasting, reproduced here, although slightly more evolved than previous bottles.
The wine is clear and medium lemon in colour.
The nose is clean with medium (+) intensity aromas of citrus (dried lemon), floral (acacia), oak (toast), mlf (cream), other (mineral, wet stones), tertiary development (hazelnuts, honey). The wine is fully developed.
The palate is dry with medium (+) acidity, medium alcohol, medium body, medium (+) intensity flavours of dried lemon, tats, cream, mineral, hazelnuts, honey. The finish is medium (+).
The wine is very good in quality. The fruit is balanced by the acid, and has good concentration and complexity, primarily from secondary and tertiary clusters. The lengths is fairly long and persistent. It lacks some concentration and complexity to be outstanding.
The wine should be drunk now (next 12 months) and is not suitable for further ageing. The primary fruit is virtually non-existent so further tertiary development is unlikely, and the wine is likely to start to fade.
An excellent mature village Puligny-Montrachet, still drinking beautifully. -
